November - Ropes & Knots Workshop - Edale
Rope Making & Knot Tying in Edale
This autumn I’m running a series of Rope Making Workshops at the Village Hall in Edale. This will be 3rd workshop this year. I hope this may be of interest to people living elsewhere in and around the Peak District. I warmly invite you to come to this last workshop that will take place on Sunday the 23rd of November.
The workshop will run from 2-5pm with a tea/coffee break at 3.30pm.
All tools and materials are provided during the workshops and you can take home with you what you make. If you came to previous workshops, rest assured that we will have plenty of new things for you to explore as well as practicing your existing cordage skills.
All abilities are welcome, both more experienced crafters and those who are complete beginners at making things by hand. I am confident to meet you right where you are, help you get started and tailor the workshop to suit your skill level.
Please note -
This workshop is for adult participants only. There is a separate morning workshop for families with children on the same day.
I have set the booking rate at £12 here to contribute towards the cost of running the event. Also, at previous events I accepted £10 cash donations on the day and not taken any donations at the time of booking. However, due to the high number of last minute cancellations at previous events, I’ve decided to create this page for online bookings in advance to ensure we have sufficient numbers participating and these events are sustainable to continue. (The £2 increase here is taking into account the transaction fees incurred with online payment processing.)

I hope to continue offering monthly workshops throughout 2026 if there is enough interest in keeping an endangered heritage crafts alive: rope making & knot work. So, even if you were unable to come this autumn, it would be good to know if you were interested in participating in some upcoming workshops next year.
